As the Washington Huskies begin to turn their focus on the recruiting trail to the 2028 class, some priority targets are coming into focus.

Among those targets is three-star offensive tackle Apisai Fifita, a 6-foot-6, 265-pound prospect out of Oaks Christian High School in Southern California. According to Rivals' Adam Gorney (subscription required), offensive line coach Michael Switzer and the Huskies hold an early lead in the race for the high-upside tackle, who is ranked as the nation's No. 435 overall prospect and No. 36 player at his position by the 247Sports Composite.

Fifita, who has no relation to Arizona Wildcats quarterback Noah Fifita, a former Jedd Fisch recruit, holds ten offers, with Arizona, BYU, California, Notre Dame, and UCLA all among the programs eyeing him early in the recruiting cycle, and would be a promising depth addition to Washington's offensive line.

On film, Fifita displays impressive athleticism, as he's frequently the first player out of his stance and is explosive to kick slide into pass protection. He also anchors very well in pass protection and plays with good power, finishing blocks with authority.

While he possesses the length, frame, and high-end athletic traits that Fisch and Switzer are looking for to run Washington's wide zone run scheme, Fifita has plenty of room to add weight over the last two years of his high school career. If he shows he can add that weight, he could see a rise up the national recruiting rankings and quickly become one of the most coveted players in California.

The Huskies currently hold three commits in the 2027 class along the offensive line: four-star interior prospect Gecova Doyal, four-star center Reis Russell, and three-star tackle Tye Kennedy, and are aiming to finish things off with four-star DaJohn Yarborough before fully turning their attention to 2028.
