Saturday, July 11, is an important day for Jedd Fisch and the Washington Huskies coaching staff as it looks to round out its 2027 recruiting class.
Not only is four-star offensive lineman DaJohn Yarborough set to announce his commitment, but four-star cornerback Censere Gaylord will also unveil his pledge as he chooses from a final three of Georgia, Georgia Tech, and UW.
The 6-foot, 170-pound product of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, who is ranked as the No. 112 overall prospect and No. 13 cornerback in the class by 247Sports, took official visits to all three programs, beginning with the Yellow Jackets on May 29, before heading to Seattle on June 5, and wrapping things up with the Bulldogs on June 12.
Although they didn't get the last visit before the dead period, which went to coach Kirby Smart, secondary coach John Richardson, and the Huskies are the favorites to land his services.
In mid-June, the Huskies landed several predictions from national recruiting analysts at both 247Sports and Rivals to earn Gaylord's commitment, as he would make for a versatile weapon on the back end of defensive coordinator Ryan Walters' scheme.
"Can mirror from both press-man and off-man alignments with his slick transitions," 247Sports' Andrew Ivins wrote in his evaluation. "Quick to turn his head and locate the football in the deeper third...Confident in run support and will look to sweep legs on the perimeter...Not only generates takeaways on Friday nights (7 INT in last 16 games), but has held a number of blue-chip pass catchers in check during offseason 1-on-1 sessions."
If Gaylord were to choose the Huskies, he would be the fourth defensive back to join the 2027 class alongside four-star safeties Jaden Walk-Green and Isala Aisa Wily-Ava, and three-star cornerback Maurice Williams.
