With 24 commits in the 2027 class, the Washington Huskies have largely turned their attention on the recruiting trail to 2028, where Jedd Fisch's coaching staff is eyeing a number of high-end prospects from across the country.

One player on that list is three-star linebacker Khalen Taylor, a 6-foot-2, 215-pound product of Fort Bend Ridge High School in Missouri City, Texas. Ranked as the No. 490 overall prospect and No. 31 linebacker by the 247Sports Composite, inside linebackers coach Brian Odom extended an offer to him in mid-May as he's seen his stock rise ahead of his junior season.

Taylor holds 20 offers, with Arizona, Arizona State, California, North Carolina, Penn State, and Virginia Tech all among the programs interested in securing his commitment following a breakout sophomore year.

Blessed to be where I am today. I’m extremely grateful for every opportunity God has blessed me with! #AGTGpic.twitter.com/xtvCq8l8oz

While mainly working as an outside linebacker, Taylor compiled 37 tackles, 6.5 for loss, with 4 sacks, 3 pass breakups, and a forced fumble, while displaying the strength and physicality that defensive coordinator Ryan Walters covets on the edge.

On film, Taylor is a relentless pass rusher who displays a high motor when a quarterback tries to escape the pocket and a quick first step. He's also a disciplined run defender who does a good job of setting the edge and turning ball carriers back into the teeth of the defense before collapsing inside.

As the Huskies continue to build up their board in the 2028 class, five-star edge rushers Jalanie George and Landen Wade sit atop the board at the position, but Taylor could quickly find himself as an important target for the Huskies.
