Technically, the Golden State Warriors don’t have to make any more adjustments to their roster.

NBA franchises may carry 14 players on their rosters if they choose to do so. However, Sports Illustrated’s Joey Akeley believes the Dubs will sign a former Philadelphia 76ers forward to assist Stephen Curry.

“Nicolas Batum appeared in 51 of the (Los Angeles) Clippers' first 52 games, but on Tuesday he was a healthy DNP, and on Wednesday he was out with a rest designation, which shouldn't happen for someone who didn't play the previous game,” Akeley wrote Thursday.

“It's looking like the Clippers are going with a youth movement at the wings, leaving Bogdan Bogdanovic and Batum without roles.”

“The Warriors would probably not be the only team interested in Batum, but they would have the most playing time available to him immediately, and that might be enough to convince him to come aboard, assuming the Clippers buy him out.”

Batum has lasted in the big leagues for nearly a decade thanks to his respectable three-point shooting and commitment to playing his role every time he steps on the hardwood.

The 37-year-old’s best days are behind him, but he can still be useful as a veteran presence who can be effective from beyond the arc. Batum is averaging 4.4 points and 2.6 rebounds with the Clippers this season, shooting 39.7% from the field and 39.4% from three-point land in 51 contests.

If Los Angeles waives Batum this season, the Warriors could be interested in bringing him onboard this summer.
