The Golden State Warriors are on the road on Wednesday night as they face off against the Houston Rockets in Game 5 of their first-round series.
Of course, the Warriors are coming off a hard-fought victory in Game 4 of the series on Monday night that saw them take a commanding 3-1 series lead.

Now, the Warriors will look to close out the series on the Rockets’ home court on Wednesday night to advance to the second round of the playoffs where they will face either the Los Angeles Lakers or Minnesota Timberwolves.
While the Warriors will try to advance on Wednesday night, they will have to do so without one of their key players.
Ahead of Wednesday’s game, Golden State announced that Jonathan Kuminga has been ruled out for Game 5 due to an illness.
Of course, Kuminga has not seen a ton of playing time in the series since head coach Steve Kerr benched him on the final day of the regular season.
Kuminga did play a key role in Game 2 and 3 whenever Jimmy Butler was sidelined due to a pelvic and glute contusion but with Butler back in the lineup, it was expected that the young forward would continue to have no role in Golden State’s rotation.

Despite this, Kuminga’s illness is still a blow to the Warriors as they could end up needing him in Wednesday’s game if one of their other key players get hurt.
While that may be the case, it seems as though Kerr has made his mind up on Kuminga’s role for the rest of the playoffs unless something drastic changes.
With Kuminga sidelined, expect Gary Payton II, Quinten Post and Moses Moody to continue to be the main players Kerr uses off the bench.
Fans can catch Wednesday’s Game 5 matchup between the Warriors and Rockets at 7:30 p.m. EST on TNT.
