Throughout the Western Conference first-round series against the Rockets, it has been clear that Houston defenders--and Dillon Brooks in particular--have employed a strategy that some consider less than honorable.

The Rockets, it seems, have taken aim at Stephen Curry's thumb, trying to whack it when he follows through on his shots. While it is not necessarily illegal, because contact is allowed once a shooter has completed his follow-through, it is certainly not a good look. Curry injured his thumb back in January, and aggravated the injury just before the start of the Rockets series.

It only makes sense, then, that the Rockets would go after a vulnerability of Golden State's best player. When asked about it after Game 5, a Rockets in in Houston to bring the series to a 3-2 tally, Brooks did not deny that he had Curry's thumb in his sights.

"If I had an injured ankle, I would attack that ankle every single time. So, whatever they’re saying on the broadcast, they're gonna keep saying it,” Brooks said.

Curry has averaged 23.4 points per game in the series, on 48.8% shooting and 39.6% 3-point shooting. After Game 5, he appeared on the podium for the Warriors with his thumb wrapped in ice. Asked how his thumb felt, Curry said, "Cold."

On Thursday, the Warriors released their official injury report for Game 6, which will be played Friday back at the Chase Center in San Francisco. They're certainly not trying to hide Curry's injury, because he is on the report.

"Right Thumb; Splint," the report reads. But the good news is that Curry is listed as "available."

Also listed as available in the report is guard Gary Payton II, who has been a critical X-factor in the series. Payton has a left thumb injury, but will be good to go.

The Rockets had not submitted their report to the league as of the NBA's 7:30 p.m. ET update.
