Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr had the opportunity to clear his entire bench during Wednesday's 131-116 blowout loss to the Houston Rockets.
In fact, Kerr decided to pull his starters as early as the midway point of the third quarter, which gave the reserves more playing time during the lopsided contest.
Only one player on the Warriors roster was not able to take the court in Game 5, and that was 6-foot-8 forward Jonathan Kuminga. The 22-year-old was in street clothes for the contest after being ruled out due to an illness.
The Warriors, however, got some good news on Thursday on the Kuminga front. As it turns out, the former No. 7 overall pick has been able to recover from his illness and has now been deemed healthy enough to suit up for Friday's clash.
Kuminga has not been listed on the team's official injury report, which means that barring any unforeseen setbacks, he should be good to go for Game 6 at Chase Center.

It has been an up-and-down series for Kuminga thus far. He did not play in Game 1, but ended up registering 11 points in Game 2 after playing 26 minutes off the bench. Kuminga then got the nod to start in Game 3 amid Jimmy Butler's injury, but he was benched again in Game 4.
Kuminga did not dress for Game 5, and it now appears that he will be available for Game 6 on Friday. Whether or not Kerr calls on him, though, remains to be seen.
Either way, having the option to call on a 15.3-point scorer from the bench can't be a bad thing for coach Kerr and the Warriors.
