Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green is a powerhouse on and off the basketball court. From his days at Michigan State University to his career in the NBA, there's really no question that Green is one of the most talented defenders of his era. But that doesn't mean everybody likes him. Just the opposite.
When you're a major name in the NBA, you're going to have some haters. It comes with the territory. Green is also a controversial force in the league, because he's not shy about calling out everyone from active players in the NBA to journalists and everyone in between.
For the doubters out there who don't think Green is as good as his reputation says he is, make note that he's officially been named one of the best defenders in the history of the NBA.
Draymond Green named the No. 10 best defender of all time in the NBA
The NBA staff of Bleacher Report has named Green the No. 10 greatest defender of all time in the NBA. It's a huge honor and certainly puts him in elite company.
"For years after Draymond won his first championship in 2015 anchoring Golden State's 'Death Lineup,' other teams around the league were looking for Draymond clones. But no one really found one," they note in the feature. "His combination of defensive IQ, instincts, quickness, strength and competitiveness is all his own. And it was probably the second most important part of the league's most recent dynasty."
Green has defied the odds of a 6'6" player to become one of the most versatile and surprising defenders in the NBA. Tom Izzo has to be proud.
