Apr. 29—LIMA — WAR Wrestling is back in Lima this weekend with "End of Dayz."

The penultimate match before the promotion's biggest match of the year is set to see wrestlers giving 110 percent at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 3 at Bradfield Community Center, 550 S. Collett St. in Lima.

"All the matches have meaning and purpose," promoter Thomas Williams said. "There are a lot of angles, storylines and hard-hitting action. We have wrestlers traveling from all over the United States to come to Lima to perform for fans."

Williams highlighted matches featuring Xodiak the Mystic against Crash, Gimmicks Inc. against the Wiseguys and Brandon Fields against newly crowned champion Ryan Michaels.

"All the angles and storylines we've done for the previous year will come to a head," Williams added. "Everybody's trying to jockey for position to be the main event match on the card for the anniversary show."

Tickets for that show, set for May 31, will be on sale at the event, which already has its front row sold out.

"We've been doing this a really long time," Williams said. "This is the best of the best that we offer."

Fans will get all the effort and action they have become accustomed to at WAR events.

"Everyone wants to be the main match," Williams said. "The fans know we're going to bring 110 percent. Last year we had basically standing room only at Bradfield for our anniversary show."

Williams also pointed out the tag team matches as preludes to future events.

"We have Shawna Reed tagging with Jimmy Shane taking on Paris McQueen and Matt Taylor. Taylor and Shane have had a rivalry for 10 years so they keep circling back to each other because they just don't like the other," he said. "Then we have a six-man tag that will be the main event in October featuring Beastman, Kronos, Amos and Jexxy Blakk against K.C. Jacobs, Dick Meyers and Will the Thrill."

WAR Wrestling promises, if anything else, a good night out.

"We're very family friendly and we don't serve alcohol," Williams said. "There isn't a bad seat in the venue so it's just a good time. And we try to keep things affordable."
