The Rochester Red Wings lost to the Syracuse Mets 3-2 on Thursday night at NBT Bank Stadium.

A.J. Ewing’s walk-off single with two outs in the ninth inning secured the win for Syracuse. Rochester led twice and carried a 2-2 tie into the final inning before Syracuse scored the winning run.

Franklin was the offensive standout for Rochester, going 3-for-4 with the home run out of the leadoff spot. Crews added a hit, run and his sixth stolen base of the season, while Robert Hassell III doubled and was hit by a pitch to reach twice. Pinckney’s sacrifice fly provided Rochester’s other RBI.

The Red Wings finished with six hits but were held scoreless over the final three innings.

Starter Andry Lara worked 5 2/3 innings and allowed one run while facing 22 batters. He was followed by Jack Sinclair, Julian Fernandez, Trevor Gott and Zach Penrod. Penrod took the loss after being charged with the winning run in the ninth.

Syracuse’s staff held Rochester to two runs, with Bryce Conley working the first four innings before a string of Mets relievers bridged the game to the ninth. Dylan Ross pitched a scoreless top of the ninth and earned the win.
