Every high school football team’s goal in Louisiana is to step foot inside the Caesars Superdome. Year in and year out, teams across the boot set out on this journey, but only a select few make it all the way.

In 2025, no teams from Lafayette Parish and its surrounding areas made the trip to New Orleans. This offseason 337-area teams have been hard at work in preparation of making their seasons last all the way through December.

From 7v7 and 5 a.m. summer workouts, to constant team bonding, the area is gearing up to make a run for an LHSAA state title. The question is which team or teams will be the ones to pull it off?

We want to hear from you!

All 42 area teams have been placed on a ballot voting for which team has the best shot at winning an LHSAA state championship in 2026. Voting will end on Aug. 4, and the winning team will be announced in a separate story. There are no voting restrictions, so vote now and vote often.
