New Boston Huron baseball player Jackson Surma drew an impressive total of 17,534 votes. That would have been good enough to win any other week of the spring season, but he had to settle for second place.

Third place went to Erie Mason hurdler Lincoln Murbach with 1,006.

It’s time to pick the June 1-7 winner.

Polls will remain open through 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10.

Addison Burgei, Gibraltar Carlson softball: Homered for her team’s lone run in the semifinals of the Division 1 Regional at Bedford.

Julia Dyson, Airport softball: Collected three hits, including a double, and was the winning pitcher in the finals of the Division 2 Regional at Fowlerville.

James Feudi, Summerfield boys golf: Took 16th place at the Division 2 state finals by shooting 81-83—164.

Claire Franzen, Summerfield softball: Drove in two runs to spark a 3-1 win over the host team in the finals of the Division 4 Regional at Dansville.

Taleon Guess, Bedford boys golf: Placed 36th at the Division 1 state finals with a two-day total of 151.

Josh Horak, Summerfield baseball: Delivered a single, double and triple in the Regional semifinals.

Lukas Linzell, SMCC baseball: Ripped a pair of RBI singles in the Regional semifinals.

Charleigh Meggison, Milan softball: Homered in the semifinals, then went 2-for-2 in the finals of the Division 2 Regional at Fowlerville.

Brayden Siders, Airport boys golf: Shot a two-day today of 155 to help the Jets take 13th-place at the Division 2 state finals.

Asher Simmons, Monroe baseball: Tossed a 1-hit shutout against Livonia Franklin in the Regional semifinals.

Avery Turk, New Boston Huron girls soccer: Netted the only goal as the Chiefs won their second consecutive Regional championship.

Avy Wood, Whiteford softball: Went 5-for-7 with two doubles and a triple and scored three times as the Bobcats won the Division 3 Regional at Wixom St. Catherine.
