Visalia Times-Delta/Tulare Advance-Register readers can now vote for their favorite high school athletes.

The poll closes at noon on Friday, April 3. There are no restrictions, so vote now and vote often. Please do not email your votes.

Here are the choices for the week of March 30 to April 3:

  • Drew Acosta, boys golf, Redwood: Acosta placed fourth as an individual at the annual Tribe Invitational at Tulare Golf Course, shooting a 71 on the Par 72 course.
  • Erin Fawkes, softball, Golden West: Fawkes pitched a complete game, firing eight strikeouts to anchor the Trailblazers to a 9-3 victory versus Lemoore. She also had a two-run double on offense.
  • Jiannah Freitas, sophomore, Tulare Union: The sophomore slugger unleashed a home run and finished with three hits, four RBIs, and two runs in an 8-5 win over Shafter.
  • Eli Palomino, baseball, El Diamante: Palomino hurled seven strikeouts in six frames as the Miners topped Porterville 8-1.
  • Madden Pasos, baseball, Exeter: Pasos had an outstanding performance in a 13-11 win over Coalinga, blasting a home run and triple to finish with three RBIs and three runs.
  • Truett Pettyjohn, baseball, Redwood: Pettyjohn was the winning pitcher after hurling six strikeouts in six innings to lead the Rangers to an East Yosemite League victory against Golden West.
  • Wyatt Ruby, boys track and field, Redwood: Ruby won the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.16 seconds at the Central Valley Classic at Clovis North.
  • Aubree Terrazas, softball, Mission Oak: Terrazas knocked in three runs on two hits as the Hawks routed Sunnyside 11-1 in five innings. She also scored a run.

How to nominate an Athlete of the Week​


Nominations are based on information available to the Times-Delta.

All high school varsity players from Tulare County can be on the ballot. Nominations must be received by Monday morning following that week's games for consideration.

Anyone can nominate an athlete of the week for every sport. Nominate next week’s ballot through email. Readers can email nominations to sports reporter Vongni Yang at [email protected]. Please include a player’s statistics and a photo if possible.
