With 56% of the total vote share, Highland girls basketball's Logan VanZandt is the Poughkeepsie Journal Girls Athlete of the Week for March 2-8.

The Poughkeepsie Journal Girls Top Postseason Performer for the winter season is now live.

Nominations are based on information gathered and received by the Poughkeepsie Journal throughout the week. For consideration, coaches are asked to submit game information and player stats to [email protected] before the end of the week.

Each week's winner will be selected and posted in the upcoming week's poll. Polls will close at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday night before the announcement the following morning.

Aaliyah Pegram, Lourdes girls basketball​


Shining throughout the week in the playoffs, Pegram finished with 21 points in the Warriors' Section 9 Class AAA semifinal and led the team with 15 in the finals loss.

Violet Bliss, Pine Plains girls indoor track & field​


Bliss qualified for state in three different events at the Section 9 State Qualifier on Feb. 28 at The Armory in New York. The senior won both the 1500 and 3000-meter run and was a part of the Division II 4x400 winning team. She finished 11th in the 1500-meter run (4:38.12) and 16th in the 3000-meter run (10:04.31) at the NYSPHSAA State Championships at Ocean Breeze Track and Field on Staten Island.

Shiloh Scott-Greaves, Dover girls indoor track & field​


Scott-Greaves qualified for state in the long jump at the Section 9 State Qualifier on Feb. 28 at The Armory in New York. She then placed 6th in the long jump with a jump of 17-8.00 at the NYSPHSAA State Championships at Ocean Breeze Track and Field on Staten Island.

Emma Dwyer, Wappingers gymnastics​


Dwyer placed 5th in the uneven bars with a score of 9.425 at the New York State Gymnastics Championships over the weekend.

Natalia Quinteros Tejada, FDR girls wrestling​


Quinteros Tejada won her third Section 9 championship, repeating as champion in the 100-pound division at the Section Championships on Feb. 16.

Rebecca Brennan, New Paltz girls wrestling​


Brennan took first place in the 132-pound division at the Section 9 Championships, pinning two opponents each in less than 30 seconds.

Isabel Saquicela, Roy C. Ketcham girls indoor track & field​


Saquicela took home first place for the Class AA high jump at the Section 1 Class Championships on Feb. 15.

Elizabeth Walsh, Pawling girls indoor track & field​


Walsh placed first for the Class C 3000-meter run at the Section 1 Class Championships on Feb. 15.

Ally Kaminski, Roy C. Ketcham girls basketball​


Leading a shorthanded team, Kaminski socred 29 points and brought down 14 rebounds in a Section 1 Class AAA semifinal win over Arlington on March 4.

Livi Lathrop, New Paltz girls indoor track & field​


Lathrop qualified for state in the high jump at the Section 9 State Qualifier on Feb. 28 at The Armory in New York.
