With 65% of the total vote share, John Jay track & field's Angela Schwer won the Poughkeepsie Journal Girls Athlete of the Week poll for June 1-7.
The Poughkeepsie Journal Girls Athlete of the Week for June 8-14 is now live.
Nominations are based on information gathered and received by the Poughkeepsie Journal throughout the week. For consideration, coaches are asked to submit game information and player stats to [email protected] before the end of the week.

Each week's winner will be selected and posted in the upcoming week's poll. Polls will close at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday night before the announcement the following morning.
Reuben placed 10th in the Class A 400-meter hurdles at the NYSPHSAA New York State Championships at Webster Schroeder with a time of 65.43.
Scott-Greaves placed fourth in the Class C long jump at the NYSPHSAA New York State Championships at Webster Schroeder with a distance of 18-11.
Bliss placed third in Class C for the 1500-meter run at the NYSPHSAA New York State Championships at Webster Schroeder with a time of 4:38.68. She also placed 13th overall in the 3000-meter run with a time of 10:00.01.
Durant pitched 9.2 innings, allowing one hit while striking out 19 batters in Pine Plains 1-0 loss to Galway in the Class C state semifinal in Binghamton. She also went 2-for-4 at the plate in the game.
