It should be a crime how fast the summer of 2026 is moving.
Nevertheless, this means the 2026 Polk County high school football season is virtually here. But which county team are you most anticipating?
There was a myriad of teams from Polk County that made it to postseason action in 2025.
Of course, the local dynasty in Lakeland (12-3) made it all way to the Class 5A state championship once more. The Lake Wales Highlanders (10-3) advanced to the Class 4A regional finals. Lakeland Christian (8-3) made its way to the Class 1A first round against Victory Christian (5-6).

All Saints: Here's how All Saints made the move to FHSAA, 11-man football
All Saints (9-2) represented the county in the Sunshine State Athletic Association (SSAA), advancing to the SSAA Class 1A state championship game, claiming the title for the fourth time in school history.
Other Polk County teams to qualify for the postseason were Winter Haven (6-5), Lake Gibson (5-6), Ridge Community (5-6), Auburndale (8-3), and Fort Meade (7-4).
But, of course, there are other teams who will be representing the county in 2026, including Discovery, Davenport, Kathleen, Bartow, Frostproof, Haines City, Mulberry, Tenoroc, George Jenkins and McLaughlin high schools. Which high school football team are you most looking forward to seeing in person? The poll is below.
