Who was the Milwaukee area's top prep athlete last week? You tell us.

You can vote for the Piggly Wiggly Milwaukee Journal Sentinel high school athlete of the week until 3 p.m. June 20. You don't have to be a subscriber to vote. Votes are limited to one per hour per device.

Marquette’s Gianni Quintero was the winner of last week’s poll.

Jonathan Amtmann, Arrowhead boys golf​


The senior tied for third individually in Division 1 at the WIAA state boys golf championships at University Ridge in Madison on June 8-9 with 139 strokes over 36 holes. His individual rounds were 71 and 68 strokes for the tournament.

Darcy Doyle, University School of Milwaukee girls lacrosse​


The Northwestern commit had seven goals in USM's 12-11 loss to Hudson in the WIAA state girls lacrosse championship in Sun Prairie on June 13.

Max Neumann, Lake Country Lutheran boys golf​


The freshman made a remarkable debut at the WIAA state boys golf championships at University Ridge in Madison on June 8-9, shooting 18-hole scores of 75 and 73 to place third in Division 2 with 148 strokes for the tournament. LCL finished fourth as a team led by Neumann's performance.

Bitsy Palicka, Sussex Hamilton softball​


The sophomore pitched every inning in Hamilton’s run to its first Division 1 state title in program history, including the Chargers’ 8-3 victory over Muskego in the title game where she struck out six with just four hits allowed. Hamilton outscored its six tournament opponents overall by 39 runs (44-5), while Palicka struck out 29 total hitters in three starts during the state tournament.

Grant Schaefer, Whitefish Bay boys tennis​


Whitefish Bay won its first team state boys tennis title since 2002 and Schaefer won the match of the day in the Blue Dukes’ 5-2 victory in the final over No. 2 Middleton. After dropping the first set 6-7 (5) to Division 1 individual state runner-up Alexander Bo, the sophomore bounced back with a 6-4 victory and then survived a 15-13 third-set classic to finish off a 3-0 individual run in the team format.
