The high school baseball season in in full swing and there are a number of teams in the Greater Savannah area who have the talent to make some noise in the state playoffs this year.
Effingham County (10-5) entered the week ranked No. 6 in the state among Class 5A teams in the Coaches Box Georgia Poll.
Benedictine is having an excellent season as the Cadets are at No. 5 in the Class 4A state poll with a 12-2 record.
Savannah Christian (9-6) sits at No. 5 in the Class A-3A Private School poll. Calvary Day is currently unranked at 5-6, but the defending state champs have a lot of talent coming back and have played a tough early season schedule that should prepare them for another deep playoff run.
Richmond Hill and South Effingham, in Class 6A and Class 5A respectively, are also top teams in the Coastal Empire.
