Allie Burzdel of Nipmuc earned more than 2,000 votes to win last week's award. We compiled 11 candidates for another go at MetroWest/Milford Daily News softball player of the week. Vote below.
During her team’s 2-1 week, the eighth-grader had three hits against Blackstone Valley Tech on Tuesday. On Friday, she struck out 16 Millbury batters in an eight-inning loss and also had two hits.
The senior went 3-for-4 and drove in three runs Monday against Worcester and scored the winning run on Wednesday in a walkoff against Groton-Dunstable.
During a week of highlights, the freshman hit .846 (11-for-13) and hit her first career home run, clearing the fence at Westwood on Monday. She also hit four doubles, drove in five runs and scored six times as the Mustangs went 2-1. She is hitting .615 on the season.
The junior singled, doubled and tripled and drove in seven runs against Blackstone-Millville.
The junior went 2-for-3, including a double and two runs batted in, for the Titans in a win over Nashoba.
The sophomore went 4-for-4 and scored three times in a win over Littleton Wednesday. On Monday, she drove in two runs and had two hits vs. Westborough for the Eagles, who began this week with a 9-1 record.
The senior had three hits on Tuesday against Cambridge Rindge & Latin. The next day, she added two more hits and drove in two runs against Newton North.
The senior had four hits in a win over Worcester.
The junior hit two home runs - including a grand slam - in a win over Medfield on Wednesday.
The junior earned the win in a 2-1 victory over Dedham on Wednesday. She defeated Norwood Thursday and had two hits.
The freshman hit a home run and had three RBIs in a win over Sutton.
