After Algonquin's Sophia Flynn earned last week's honor by garnering more than 15,000 votes, readers have 12 new candidates to choose from for Daily News softball player of the week. Vote below.

Maddy Benoit, Tri-County​


She hit three doubles and drove in three runs in a win over Bristol Aggie on Tuesday. The sophomore doubled and scored three runs on Thursday against Assabet.

Kelsey Blanchette, Lincoln-Sudbury​


The senior struck out 10 and allowed just two earned runs in a complete-game win over Walpole. She also had multiple hits in a win over Boston Latin.

Kaitlyn Cabral, Marlborough​


The junior went 2-for-4 with three runs scored and two driven in during a victory over Fitchburg. Also had two hits vs. Algonquin.

Savannah Carr, Nipmuc​


The junior went 2-for-4 with a home run and drove in three runs on Wednesday and added a 2-for-3 day with a home run and three runs scored against Medway on Friday as the Warriors improved to 5-0.


Layla Huntley, Hopedale​


In a week in which the Blue Raiders won three games and outscored opponents 67-1, the sophomore had six RBIs against Blackstone-Millville on Wednesday. The next day against Sutton, Huntley hit a pair of doubles and knocked in three runs. On Friday, she went 3-for-3 and scored three times against Holliston.

Bryce Kane, Westborough​


The senior hit a pair of home runs in a win over Nashoba.

Ruby Khazadian, Ashland​


Khazadian went 3-for-6 with five RBIs in a win over Holliston. The sophomore doubled twice and tripled.

Emilia Leach, Millis​


Leach had four hits with a home run and four RBIs as the Mohawks won their first game of the season, defeating Medfield.

Valerie Lemont, Algonquin​


Lemont had three hits for the Titans against Oakmont and had two hits and two runs batted in against Marlborough.

Elizabeth McDonnell, Wellesley​


The junior fanned eight Brookline hitters in a shutout victory, allowing just one hit. McDonnell also fanned 13 Boston Latin batters as the Raiders improved to 4-2.

Ava McLeod, AMSA​


The sophomore struck out seven Keefe Tech batters during a combined no-hitter and scored two runs. McLeod hit a double against Blackstone Valley as well.

Lauren O’Malley, Hudson​


The senior homered and singled with three RBIs on Tuesday in a win over Worcester South. On Thursday, she added two more hits, including a triple, and scored two runs against Leominster.
