With the conclusion of the Tennessee high school track and field season, The Daily Herald spotlighted the area's top athletes as part of our All-Area teams.
Summit's Lorelai Whitten was named our 2026 Girls Athlete of the Year, but now we're giving fans the chance to select the athlete they believe made the greatest mark this past season. Vote below for the Columbia area's top TSSAA girls track and field athlete in the 2026 high school season.
Here are the nominees.
Ashlan Alexander, Battle Creek, Fr.: Alexander secured an eighth-place finish in the 400 meter at the Class AA Middle Section meet with a time of 1:03.35.
Alyssa Davis, Columbia Academy, So.: After claiming the DII-A Middle Region title in the discus throwing 107-6, Davis secured a fifth-place finish at the TSSAA state championship meet with a mark of 106-11.
Allie Reese Hill, Columbia Central, So.: Reese Hill qualified for the Class AAA state championship meet in three events, placing sixth in the pentathlon with 2,860 points, sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 36-7½ and ninth in the 100 hurdles with a time of 15.27.
Gencye Knight, Independence, Sr.: Knight's time of 12.38 seconds earned her ninth in the 100 at the Section 4-AAA meet. In the long jump Knight claimed fifth in the Section 4-AAA meet, clearing a mark of 17-11¾.

Kaylee Olsen, Independence, Jr.: Olsen earned a 10th-place finish in the high jump at the Class AAA state championship meet, clearing a mark of 5-0. She'd previously jumped the same at the Section 4-AAA meet to tie for third.
Emma Rees, Independence, Jr.: Rees closed her debut season at Independence with a seventh-place finish in the 300 hurdles at the Section 4-AAA meet, clocking in at 46.56.
Jillian Roth, Independence, Jr.: Roth came in fifth in the 800 at the Section 4-AAA meet with a time of 2:15.62, following up a third-place finish at the Section 4 East Sub-Section meet, where she clocked in at 2:15.28.
Addelyn Harrison, Spring Hill, Sr.: Harrison finished state runner up in the pole vault at the Class AA state championships, clearing a mark of 10-6. The ETSU signee also finished second at the Class AA Middle Section meet, again jumping 10-6.
Kyndra Ferrer, Summit, Jr.: Ferrer finished 12th in the 200 meter at the Section 4-AAA meet with a time of 26.24, following up a sixth-place finish at the sub-section meet, where she clocked in at 26.66.
Lorelai Whitten, Summit, So.: Whitten finished first in the 3,200 at the Class AAA championship meet with a time of 10:28.72, while also claiming fourth in the 1,600, after clocking in at 5:00.50.
Wenonah Yancey, Summit, So.: Yancey came in eighth in the shot put at the Class AAA state championship meet as she hit a mark of 34-6½. She previously secured a third-place finish at the Section 4-AAA meet (32-4) and a first-place finish at the sub-section meet (35-0).
