The winner of last week’s Baseball Player of the Week poll was Dartmouth’s Sebastian Diaz. He had more than 4000 votes (61%) to receive the honor.

Diaz went 1-for-2 with 2 RBIs in a loss to New Bedford.

The previous winner was Dartmouth’s Chase Afonso.

The winner of the Preseason Baseball Player of the Year poll was Dartmouth’s Logan Stott with more than 1,000 votes (38%). Old Colony’s Cam Vallee was second followed by GNB Voc-Tech’s Ashton DeMedeiros.

Each week during the regular season, we will highlight the top performances.

Here’s your chance to vote for the top high school baseball performance from the past week.

Lucas Beauregard, Apponequet​


Beauregard allowed 1 run on 2 hits and 4 walks with 5 strikeouts in 5 innings against Dartmouth. In three games, he had a combined 4 hits and 3 RBIs.

Brayden Bogdan, Apponequet​


Bogdan led Apponequet in a win over Dartmouth with 2 hits, including a home run, and 4 RBIs. Bogdan also had 3 hits in a win over GNB Voc-Tech and picked up the save against Dartmouth.

Pete Kanakis, Apponequet​


Kanakis pitched 5 scoreless innings in a win over Bourne, allowing 5 hits, 1 walk and 1 hit batsman with 7 strikeouts.

Ryan Levesque, Apponequet​


In a win over GNB Voc-Tech, Levesque went 6 innings, allowing 3 hits and 2 walks with 8 strikeouts.

Amir Cartagena, Bishop Stang​


Cartagena went a combined 5-for-8 with 2 RBIs and 3 runs scored.

Tom Guenette, Bishop Stang​


Guenette went a combined 4-for-7 with 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored in two games.

Devin Lord, Bishop Stang​


In a pair of games against Arlington Catholic and St. Mary’s, Lord went a combined 5-for-8 with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored.

Brock Winslow, Bishop Stang​


In three games, Winslow went a combined 6-for-12 with 4 RBIs and 2 runs scored.

Chase Afonso, Dartmouth​


Afonso got the win on the mound against Durfee, pitching 4 ⅔ scoreless innings, allowing 2 hits and 1 walk with 7 strikeouts. He also went 2-for-5 at the plate and drove in the game-winning run with a 2-out, 2-strike single in the bottom of the eighth inning. He also went 1-for-2 with an RBI and run scored against GNB Voc-Tech.

Dom Gioiosa, Dartmouth​


In a win over GNB Voc-Tech, Gioiosa allowed no runs on 1 hit and 2 walks with 6 strikeouts over 5 innings.

Logan Stott, Dartmouth​


In three games, Stott had a combined 5 hits, 2 RBIs and a run scored.

Clayton Blanchard, Fairhaven​


Blanchard picked up the win over Somerset Berkley, allowing 1 earned run on 4 hits and 1 walk with 7 strikeouts in 4 innings.

Gavin Bourgeois, Fairhaven​


Bourgeois pitched 5 shutout innings against West Bridgewater, allowing 5 hits with no walks and 2 strikeouts.

Aidan Smith, Fairhaven​


In a win over West Bridgewater, Smith went 3-for-3 with 2 doubles, an RBI, run scored and stolen base. He also helped turn two double plays on defense and was 4-for-4 on balls hit to him.

Kyle Soares, Fairhaven​


In two games, Soares went a combined 4-for-6 with a double, RBI and 3 runs scored.

Trevor Roderiques, New Bedford​


In a loss to Falmouth, Roderiques pitched 5 innings, allowing 5 earned runs on 7 hits and 2 walks with 4 strikeouts. He also had 2 hits and a walk.

Zach Mendes, Old Rochester​


Mendes pitched 2 ⅓ scoreless innings of relief, allowing 1 hit and no walks with 3 strikeouts in a comeback win over West Bridgewater. He also went 2-for-3 with a sacrifice fly and 3 RBIs. Against Wareham, Mendes picked up the win, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits, 3 walks, 3 hit batsmen and 4 strikeouts over 5 innings.

Nolin Vieira, Old Rochester​


In three games, Vieira had a combined 5 hits, 2 runs scored and 4 RBIs.

Ben Wesoly, Old Rochester​


Wesoly had a combined 3 hits, including 2 doubles, a sacrifice fly and 6 RBIs in two games.

Tyler Cannon, Wareham​


In a loss to Old Rochester, Cannon had a pair of hits.
