It's time to take a look at the standout performers from Section V.
Your vote will determine who will be the Faber Builders Girls Sports Athlete of the Week for June 8-14. The players' credentials are listed above the poll — which will be live until 8 p.m. Wednesday. The winner will be announced on our Instagram page Thursday morning.
The nominees are chosen by our sports reporters. If you would like to call attention to an athlete's performance to be considered for the nomination, please email [email protected] by 7 p.m. each Sunday. All athletes who play on Section V girls teams are eligible to be nominated.

Victor girls lacrosse player scored four goals as the Blue Devils defeated Garden City to claim their fifth straight New York state title. Anderson also scored in the semifinal win against Queensbury.
A senior Fairport who won the Class A public school track and field state championship in the 100-meter dash and then helped her team's 4x100 relay win the Federation race at Webster Schroeder.
Sophomore at Oakfield-Alabama surrendered one run across two state playoff softball games, leading the Hornets to the NYSPHSAA Class D championship. Finished 2 for 3 with three RBI at the plate against Cincinnatus in semifinals and scattered five hits in the pitcher's circle against Windham-Ashland-Jewett in the Class D final.
The 2025 Democrat and Chronicle All-Greater Rochester Girls Golf Player of the Year was the top finisher from Section V at the high school state championships. Jodoin, a senior at Victor, shot a score of 151, good for seventh place, over two rounds at Wild Wood Country Club in Rush. High school girls golf takes place during the fall in Section V.
Sophomore at Padilla at Franklin campus is the Federation and Class A public school athletic association state champion in the 200-meter dash. Lane won the two races at Webster Schroeder.
Penfield girls lacrosse player posted four goals and one assist in the Patriots’ state semifinal win over Shaker. Rothfuss also had two goals in the state final against Huntington.
A sprinter in her junior year who helped two Batavia track and field relays win Class B public school association state titles and scored top eight finishes in two individual events during the high school state championships at Webster Schroeder. Batavia won the 4x100 relay race before its runner-up finish in the Federation race with runners from schools from all sizes. The Blue Devils won the public schools 4x400 race in 3 minutes, 53.88 seconds, coming in sixth place in the Federation race.
