Congratulations to Carmel junior Livi Miller, who was voted by readers as the IndyStar's track and field Athlete of the Week for May 4-9.

It's now time to select a new winner for the week of May 11-16.

Here are the nominees for the IndyStar's high school track and field Athlete. IndyStar readers vote to decide this week's winner. Voting closes at noon on Thursday, May 21. The poll is at the bottom of the article.

Deji Adesoji, Brownsburg, Sr.​


Adesoji won gold in two events at the Brownsburg vs. Zionsville meet on May 13. He placed first in the 200 meters (22.42) and was a member of the 4x100-meter relay team that won gold with a time of 41.92. He also placed fourth in the 100 meters.

Banner Barnes, Noblesville, Jr.​


Barnes won the 800 meters at the Hamilton County boys invitational on May 14. He crossed the finish line with a time of 1:50.41.

Will Duncan, Hamilton Heights, Sr.​


Duncan won the discus and shot put events at the Hamilton County boys invitational. He scored 162 feet, 7 inches in discus and 58 feet, 10 inches in shot put.

Joseph Jefferson, Zionsville, Sr.​


Jefferson put together a strong day at the Brownsburg vs. Zionsville meet. Individually, he placed first in the 300-meter hurdles (39.00) and took fifth place in the 100 meters (11.15). He was also the anchor leg for the second-place 4x400-meter relay team.

Sam Long, Hamilton Southeastern, Sr.​


Long won gold in two events at the Hamilton County boys invitational meet. He placed first in the 110-meter hurdles (14.15) and 300-meter hurdles (38.33).

Jenna Rhodes, Westfield, Fr.​


Rhodes placed top five in two finals races at the Hamilton County girls meet on May 12. She placed first in the 100-meter hurdles (15.51) and fourth in the 300-meter hurdles (45.95).

Amelia Smith, Guerin Catholic, Jr.​


Smith clinched gold in the pole vault at the Hamilton County Girls meet. She recorded a leap of 13 feet.

Demi Smith, Brownsburg, Soph.​


Smith had an excellent performance at the Brownsburg vs. Zionsville meet. Individually, she placed first in the 200 meters (25.48) and second in the 100 meters (12.41). She also helped Brownsburg’s 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relay teams win gold.

Larkin Taylor, Carmel, Jr.​


Taylor won gold at the Hamilton County girls meet. She clinched the 800 meters with a time of 2:11.86.

Mia Tobias, Fishers, Sr.​


Tobias won two events at the Hamilton County girls meet. She placed first in the discus (143 feet, 7 inches) and shot put (41 feet, 9.75 inches).
