Congratulations to North Central senior Gabrielle Moore, who was voted by readers as the IndyStar's high school track and field Athlete of the Week for May 25-30.

The IHSAA girls, boys and unified state track meets was hosted at North Central this past week.

Here are the nominees for the IndyStar's high school track and field athlete for the Week of June 1-6. IndyStar readers vote to decide this week's winner. Voting closes at noon on Thursday, June 11. The poll is at the bottom of the article.

Athletes are listed in alphabetical order by last name.

Ellie Barada, Bloomington South, Sr.​


Barada repeated as 800-meter champion at the girls state meet. She ran a time of 2:05.33.

Noah Bontrager, Westview, Sr.​


Bontrager set new state records in the 3200 and 1600 runs at the boys state meet. He clocked in a 3200 time of 8:47.57, which bested the previous record of 8:51.15 that stood for 14 years. He also crossed the finish line of the 1600 at 4:01.83. That set his previous state record time of 4:02.60.

Collin Bumgardner, Danville, Sr.​


Bumgardner swept the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash at the boys state meet. He clocked in a time of 10.58 in the 100 finals before he went 21.15 in the 200 finals.

Sadie Foley, Carmel, Sr.​


Foley ran second leg for the state-winning 4x800-meter relay team at the girls state meet. The Greyhounds ran a time of state meet record time of 8:49.46. Individually, Foley placed second in the 1600 meters.

Rylan Hainje, Franklin Central, Sr.​


Hainje took home gold in the 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles and set new state records in both events at the boys state track meet. He ran a 13.16 in the 110 hurdles, which was an improvement from his 2025 mark of 13.28. He went 35.26 in the 300 hurdles, just enough to top his 2025 score of 35.82.

Anissa Lammie, Hamilton Southeastern, Jr.​


Lammie was the anchor leg for HSE’s state-winning 4x800 relay team at the girls state meet. The Royals clocked in a time of 3:47.29. She also won an individual state crown in the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.32.

Jordan Redmon, Brownsburg, Fr.​


Redmon had an excellent debut at the boys state track meet. He ran second leg for the state-winning 4x100 relay team who clocked in a time of 40.60. After he placed fifth in the 200 prelims, he finished third (21.51) in the finals.

Isabella Sotelo, Eastern Hancock, Jr.​


Sotelo won the 300 hurdles with a time of 41.49. She edged out HSE senior Chloe Senefeld, who clocked in at 42.19. Sotelo also placed second (14.03) in the 100 hurdles.

Mallory Weller, Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran, Sr.​


Weller clinched her second consecutive titles in the 3200 and 1600 meters at the girls state meet. She clocked in a 3200 time of 10:18.66 and a 1600 time of 4:46.34.

Caleb Winders, Bloomington North, Sr.​


Winders earned two gold medals at the boys state meet. He clocked in a time of 1:49.36 in the 800, which barely missed the state record mark of 1:49.25. He ran opening leg and helped Bloomington North win its fourth consecutive state title in the 4x800 relay.
