Too many athletes have played a varsity sport at Genoa since 2000 to remember them all.
Some, or course, were more memorable than others. Who do you remember first for the Comets in the last 26 years?

High school wrestling girls America, girls wrestling in Ohio can each celebrate independence
Simone (Eli) Sessions, who graduated in 2009, scored 1,360 points for Genoa and continued her career at Bowling Green State University. She qualified to state for cross country and established the Genoa record at 19:42. She advanced to regional three times for track.
Shana (Szypka) Scharer, who graduated in 2007, was 61-4 in her career, with 11 no-hitters before continuing her career at Toledo. She was twice first-team all-state.
Haley Pickard, who graduated in 2016, scored 1,344 points in her basketball career. She earned 12 letters, starting all four years on the basketball and softball teams. She was a three-year starter for volleyball.
Cory Hornyak, who graduted in 2005, was all-conference in soccer, basketball, baseball and football. He continued his baseball career at Youngstown State. He scored 45 goals in one season for soccer.
Amanda (Cedoz) Brown, who graduated in 2003, qualified to state 10 times for track and established program record in both hurdles, the 200 and on two relays.
Nick Purdue, who graduated in 2007, earned a state championship in wrestling as a junior and senior. He finished third as a sophomore. He continued his career at Ohio University. He was low round medalist for golf in the Suburban Lakes League as a senior.
Chris Bassitt, who graduated in 2007, was first-team all-conference for baseball and basketball. He's currently a pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles. He was an All-Star for Oakland in 2021.
Nicole (Nissen) Bergman, who graduated in 2004, was first-team all-district for basketball, softball and volleyball. She scored 1,081 points for basketball.
Blair Skilliter, who graduated in 2009, was first-team all-state at running back as a senior and continued his career on both sides of the ball at Mount Union. He was also a sprinter for track.
Jacob Plantz, who graduated in 2019, established a career program record with 1,848 points and continued his baskeball career at Lake Erie. He passed for 1,781 yards and intercepted eight passes in one season for football. He played baseball as well.
