When it comes to high school sports in the Wilmington area, baseball holds a special place.
Southeastern North Carolina has long been a pipeline for talented players, and that tradition continued this spring. From standout performances to breakout seasons, area athletes once again proved why local baseball remains among the region's premier sports.
The talent level was evident across the board. At least six area players already hold Division I offers, while several others have drawn significant attention from college recruiters.
Now it's time to choose the 2026 StarNews End-of-Season Baseball Player of the Year.
