The Super Bowl 50 MVP wants to return home in 2026.
Edge rusher Von Miller is still on the free agent market as teams begin their spring workouts at OTAs. Months removed from a nine-sack season with the Washington Commanders in 2025, the veteran edge rusher made clear his intentions to play in 2026. And, if it were entirely his choice, he'd like to play for the Denver Broncos again.
At an event for his charity, Von's Vision, in Commerce City, Colorado, Miller was asked if he has "lobbied" Broncos head coach Sean Payton for a reunion with the team that drafted him.

"I lobbied, I do lobby, I lobbied publicly, privately, so I lobbied," Miller said. "I think there's no question the type of environment I bring to a locker room, I think there's no question to the type of environment I bring to a team.
"I don't want to pat myself on the back, but at 37 years old, I can still roll out the bed and still rush the quarterback. I'm still a great guy in the locker room, I bring great energy, I make sure everybody is ready to go."
Miller played nine and a half seasons for Denver to begin his career after the Broncos drafted him with the No. 2 overall pick in 2011. He is still the franchise leader in career sacks after accumulating 110.5 of them during his time in Denver. The veteran edge rusher was named MVP of Super Bowl 50 after he recorded six tackles, a pass defensed, 2.5 sacks and two forced fumbles.
Miller's 2025 season was evidence the 15-year veteran still has fuel in the tank. His nine sacks for the Commanders both led the team last year and marked the highest sack total for Miller since the 2021 season. He's up to 138.5 career sacks, making him the NFL's active leader.
Last year was also the first in which Miller played every game since 2018. Ankle and knee injuries limited him to 38 games between 2020 and 2023, and Miller served a four-game suspension in 2024 for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy after allegations he assaulted his pregnant girlfriend.
If Miller joins the Broncos in 2026, he'd be joining a defense that was the third-best at preventing scoring in 2025. He'd also join edge rusher Nik Bonnito, who has come into his own over the last two seasons, tallying 27.5 sacks across 2024 and 2025. While Miller acknowledges he likely wouldn't be a starter on this year's squad, he still feels he would be a positive contributor.
"I would love to bring back the Super Bowl 50 vibes," Miller said. "I would love to assist, and be the vice president to Bo Nix and Courtland Sutton. I've been the guy and also I've been the vice president. … I would love to contribute to us getting back to the glory land, to holding up that trophy.
"Everybody knows I want to be a Denver Bronco, it just depends on how it all shakes out."
