FRISCO - One of these days, Von Miller will decide to hang up his cleats to become a full-time chicken farmer as he awaits the five-year countdown to Canton.

Miller is destined for the Hall of Fame.

But is the 37-year-old also destined for a DFW homecoming?

After suiting up for the Washington Commanders last season, Miller is "for sure" going to play again in 2026.

And it seems he's got a couple of ideas he's dreaming about.

One of those ideas, long discussed by the DeSoto native and Texas A&M product is a hookup with his hometown Dallas Cowboys.

It makes a great deal of logistical sense; he spends a lot of time in Dallas in the offseason and yes, really, he owns Greener Pastures Chicken, a 35-acre regenerative organic poultry farm outside Austin.

It appears that Von thinks that, too, as he is presently unemployed but just posted on social media a photo of himself in a Cowboys uniform.

Additionally, after revealing he ultimately chose Washington over the Seattle Seahawks a year ago, he's got the reigning Super Bowl champions on his mind.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm playing for sure," Miller told ESPN. "I had nine sacks last year. ... I'm not on my last flame."

He had nine sacks last year.

That number would've led all Seahawks, as Leonard Williams, Byron Murphy II and Uchenna Nwosu each totaled seven in 2025.

And it would've put him in good company in Dallas, too, as last year, Jadeveon Clowney led the team with 8.5 sacks.

And he doesn't play for the Cowboys anymore.

Should Cowboys' 'Second-Chance' Jerry Jones Sign Terrion Arnold?Following his release in Detroit, the former first-round cornerback faces serious felony charges. Jerry Jones’ history of high-risk signings could make Dallas the ultimate landing spot.
"I don't want to pat myself on the back, but at 37 years old, I can still roll out the bed and still rush the quarterback," Miller said. "I'm still a great guy in the locker room, I bring great energy, I make sure everybody is ready to go."

A two-time Super Bowl champion and the MVP of Super Bowl 50, some think Miller would fit nicely within the championship culture head coach Brian Schottenheimer has tried to establish in Dallas.

What might the money look like?

Know that Seattle inked Cowboys ex Dante Fowler Jr. to a one-year, $5 million deal. Fowler posted just three sacks for a disappointing Dallas Cowboys defense last season after recording 10.5 with the Commanders the year prior.

So maybe that's the framework for what might be a one-year offer to Miller.

His argument in return? A team should account for the championship experience Miller would bring to a locker room looking to win its first title in three decades.

Dallas wouldn't need Von Miller to be the player he was in Denver. ... back in the days when Von and the Cowboys had their big-money flirtations.

It'd simply needs him to be the player he was in Washington last season.

If the future Hall of Famer can still provide that version of himself, the Cowboys should absolutely pay attention to Miller's plea if he wishes to be a low-cost veteran pass rusher capable of opening the championship window.

No More Helmets? What Can NFL Learn From Cowboys' Marshawn Kneeland CTE Reveal? With it being revealed that Kneeland, who tragically took his own life last season, had Stage 1 CTE, it got me thinking about how the NFL can learn from it.
