Virtual measurements

I’m watching the Titans/Falcons they said they have to delay the game for a virtual measurement. They specifically said there is no chips in the ball.

So how are they measuring virtually? Wasn’t the idea of this to save time? And be accurate? Yet the spot is still done manually by the Ref. So you can still get a bad spot.

The time it took for the virtual in the game took every bit as long as a manual measurement imo.

Agree fully.
And like DMC said..it removes the suspense of watching the chains stretch

Pretty easily remedied: just make an AI digital version of the stretch.
