Arizona State ͏Sun Devils ͏women’s basketball g͏ave͏ its fans a sea͏son ͏to remember, and i͏t ended with something the program had been ch͏asing for yea͏rs. The Sun Devils ma͏de ͏the NCAA Tournament for ͏th͏e first time since͏ 2019, ͏entered the tournament as a 10͏-seed in the first four after ͏several losing seasons. This indeed is historic.
For head coach Molly Miller, this is even bigger. In just her first season, she helped guide ASU into the national spotlight and built a strong foundation for what comes next.
“It’s all about our players,” Miller said, pointing to the buy-in from everyone around the team. “When you have the buy-in from everyone around you, something special happens.”

That message summed up ASU’s year perfectly. Miller did not treat the season like a finish line. She called it a “A historic season, I’m really proud to be a part of it. It was a great first chapter, more to come, but what a great first year.”
Still, she made it clear how much the moment meant to her. The season was about more than wins. It was about building something that can last.
Miller also showed her confidence away from the bench. Before going on the Suns broadcast, she stepped up for the first shot and calmly knocked it down. When asked what was going through her mind at the line, she laughed and kept it simple.
“I’m not that nervous with the tie ball game with 10 seconds left,” she said. “It was fun, I’m just glad I made it.”
That kind of calm fits the season ASU had. It was a breakthrough year, as Miller mentioned, but it also felt like the beginning of something bigger.
