The 2027 NFL Draft will take place in Washington, D.C. next year. In that draft, the Vikings still have their first-round pick, but a lot could happen in the next 9 months. Before then, though, there will be plenty of speculation and buildup for the team and who they may add to the roster through the draft in a class that many are saying could be one of generational wealth.
Athlon Sports' Luke Easterling recently released the latest 2027 NFL mock draft of the cycle, which has the team going offensive line in the first round. He has them going with Iowa's Trevor Lauck who is a physically dominant blocker who could move inside if need be based on my eval.
Easterling explains the Lauck pick, writing, "With the way the J.J. McCarthy situation is playing out, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Vikings preferred to keep going the veteran route at quarterback rather than spending a first-round pick on another developmental prospect. Instead, they could bolster the future of the offensive line with Lauck, the latest in a long line of studs to come from this program. If Christian Darrisaw can’t stay healthy, Minnesota will need a reliable left tackle across from the recently extended Brian O’Neill."
It would be bold for this front office to invest in the offensive line based on what they have built at the moment. General manager Nolan Teasley has shown he will be a part of a team that has a strong offensive line, so he will not allow it to be a weakness.
