How big of a size advantage will Ian Machado Garry have when he enters the cage to challenge Islam Makhachev at UFC 330 on Aug. 15?

Fans got an answer Tuesday night, when the top welterweights faced off ahead of the iconic Rocky statue in Philadelphia to promote their championship bout. On paper, according to official numbers, Garry has a 5-inch height advantage over the reigning 170-pound champion.

This marks Makhachev’s first title defense at welterweight, having beat Jack Della Maddalena to claim the belt after a very successful and dominant run at lightweight. Garry, on the other hand, enters the cage after a pair of wins over Carlos Prates and Belal Muhammad.

UFC 330 takes place at the Xfinity Mobile Arena, and the co-main event sees strawweight champion Mackenzie Dern put her title on the line for the first time against fellow submission specialist Gillian Robertson.

Dern captured the vacant strap with a decision over Virna Jandiroba in October, while then-champion Zhang Weili moved up to flyweight to pursue double gold, and Robertson became the No. 1 contender after securing five wins in a row since 2024, four of those against Brazilians strawweights.
