Indian teen sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was back in action against Sri Lanka A on Sunday at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium in Dambulla, Sri Lanka, in the final of the Tri-series,
In the opening match against Afghanistan A, Sooryavanshi got off the blocks quickly with three boundaries before misjudging a lofted shot over mid-off.
The bat turned in his grip and he could not generate the height or power to clear the fielder. Sri Lanka A captain Sahan Arachchige dived full length to complete the catch and end a 14-ball stay of 14 runs.

In the rest of the series, the southpaw had his moments and started strongly but could not convert them into big knocks, however, in the final when it mattered the most, the 15-year-old delivered.
Sooryavanshi scored 94 runs off just 29 balls and was on the verge of scoring a historic century, but he missed out by a whisker.
The India A vs Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan A Tri-Nation series 2026 followed a double round-robin format, where each team plays the other two sides twice.
Each team played four league matches in the 50-over (List A) format, making a total of six games before the final.
The top two teams on the points table qualified for the final, with points awarded as 2 for a win, 1 for no result, and 0 for a loss.
