Will Wade adds his next basketball player as UTSA Roadrunners transfer guard Austin Nunez has signed with the LSU Tigers, per Pete Nakos of On3Sports. Nunez is a potential starting guard for them, though he has a ton of experience as a backup.

The journeyman has made two separate stints with the Arizona State Sun Devils, a year with the Ole Miss Rebels and then last season with the Roadrunners. He has started 23 of his 84 career games, with 21 of those starts coming last season.

Nunez averaged 9.8 points, 2.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.1 steals on 30.4/25.3/88.5 shooting splits. Obviously, that efficiency is not exactly something they strive for, but the free-throw percentage suggests that things can improve.

The big thing to take away from his production last year is those 1.1 steals. A large through-line of this interesting Tigers roster is defensive intensity. Will Wade and his staff is going to be expecting their players to play hard and force turnovers. A lot of these players are good at doing just that.

LSU now has six players publicly added to its roster. Nunez would either be the starting point guard or the sixth man off the bench.

Here is a fully updated look at their known players, still not much depth but an interesting start to team:

Former Michigan State Spartans G Divine Ugochukwu

Former UTSA Roadrunners G Austin Nunez

Former Kansas State Wilcats G/F Abdi Bashir Jr.

Former Kentucky Wildcats F Mo Dioubate

Ex-Israeli Profesional F/C Marcio Santos

Freshman F Ahmad Hudson
