The World Cup is an opportunity for players to showcase their talent against top competition on the biggest stage in the sport. While the USMNT fell short of what they might have been capable of, there were individuals who stood out and made a name for themselves. One such player was Sebastian Berhalter who has been a stand out with the Vancouver Whitecaps before earning a spot on the World Cup roster.

Berhalter had a start with four substitute appearances and scored a goal while adding an assist. He came on and was an able substitute for Christian Pulisic in the opening win over Paraguay, but his best showing was against Türkiye. He played the full 90 and notched his goal and assist while being a key part of the attack for the Americans.

Following the tournament, he is now close to signing for Middlesborough according to the Athletic. Reports are the deal will be worth about $2 million and send the midfielder to Boro to play aside fellow USMNT midfielder Aidan Morris.
