The USF men’s basketball team clinched at least a share of its second-ever conference regular season championship Sunday with a 90-62 victory over Tulane at Yuengling Center.
The Bulls (21-8, 13-3) can clinch the outright championship and No. 1 seed in the conference tournament with one more win.
USF’s first regular season conference title came in 2023-24 under late head coach Amir Abdur-Rahim.
The Bulls’ 13 conference wins are the second most in a single season in school history, trailing only Abdur-Rahim’s 16 in ’23-’24.
Wes Enis scored 25 points and two Bulls registered double-doubles Sunday as Bryan Hodgson’s squad won its seventh consecutive game.
The victory came three days after USF reached the 20-win milestone for only the seventh time in program history with a 75-56 victory over Rice.
Enis went 9 of 14 from the field, including 5 for 10 from 3-point range. Josh Omojafo had 16 points and 10 rebounds. Izaiyah Nelson added 14 points, 13 rebounds and six assists.
USF went ahead to stay with 7:48 left in the first half and led 49-38 at halftime, with Enis racking up 18 points. The Bulls extended their lead to 60-46 during the second half, fueled by a 7-0 scoring run. Omojafo scored a team-high 10 points in the second half.
Curtis Williams led Tulane (17-12, 8-8) with 27 points and six rebounds. The Green Wave got 11 points and seven rebounds from Rowan Brumbaugh. Scotty Middleton had 11 points and six rebounds.
