MEMPHIS, Tenn. — With their backs against the wall on the verge of failing to reach the American Conference tournament, the Memphis Tigers came up short in the regular-season home finale against league leaders South Florida, 96-89.

The Tigers were led by senior point guard Dug McDaniel, who delivered with 25 points and seven assists. Fellow seniors Zach Davis and Sincere Parker also finished with double figures as Davis scored 17 points with eight rebounds, and Parker scored 14 points and seven rebounds off the bench.

As a team, Memphis shot only 40 percent from the field and 43 percent from three, behind 16 attempts.

As a team, the Tigers played one of their best performances as a collective as they finished with nine turnovers and dished out 19 assists, but lost the battle on the boards 40 to 36.

Next, Memphis will close the regular season on the road at rival Tulane on Sunday, March 8th.
