The 2026 NFL scouting combine will kick off on Thursday, February 26, inside Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis (IN), and for the first time since the late 1970's, Texas A&M will send a nation-high 13 players to the combine, including one of the program's more underrated veterans along the offensive line.

Within a list that includes likely first round selections, including unanimous All-American edge rusher Cashius Howell, and star wide receiver KC Concepcion, former three-star tight end recruit turned starting right tackle Dametrious Crownover turned head during his time at the Senior Bowl earlier this month, and due to his elite size, strength, and immense potential, was named to USA TODAY's top 10 combine participants who could "could dazzle in testing."

Texas A&M's history of developing NFL-level offensive linemen dates back to the 1980s, or even earlier, and while the Aggies have not been one of the more successful programs in postseason play, Crownover is just another example of an undervalued prospect becoming a future draft selection.

Ranked No. 10 on writer Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz's, Crownover has another chance to, yes "dazzle" the scouts in attendance, a further boost his draft stock.

"The nature of this event isn't particularly conducive to creating star turns for offensive linemen, who test last on Sunday and are reduced to somewhat of an afterthought. Still, there are usually a few big men who manage to turn heads with their athleticism.

Crownover is a good deal less polished than the top offensive tackle prospects in this class, but the 6-7, 336-pound blocker is the kind of project that general managers and coaches gladly sign up for. Beyond his imposing frame and wingspan, the former tight end can move nimbly enough to be an upper-echelon pass protector if he can put everything together.

Whether he can get there is still very much an unknown, however, as he's often undone by the leverage issues that many taller linemen face. But the combine should serve as a reminder of what's available to be unlocked."

Crownover's size and impressive footwork make him an intriguing player for any coaching staff needing an immediate swing tackle with a bright starting future, and, like we've seen in the past with several former Texas A&M draft prospects, the combine is the first step.
