The USA already made history in January by winning back-to-back titles at the world junior hockey championship for the first time.
Now, it will look to join Canada as the only country this century to win the under-20 tournament three consecutive times. Canada won five in a row from 2005-09.
The Americans will host this year's tournament in Saint Paul and Minneapolis, Minnesota from Dec. 26 to Jan. 5.
USA Hockey released its preliminary roster on Monday, Dec. 1. It features 28 players, including nine who played in the 2024-25 tournament. The final roster will be cut down to 25 players.
