Updating Ole Miss in college baseball polls following South Carolina series

OXFORD — Ole Miss baseball has taken a hit in the polls after a rough week.

The Rebels (28-12, 10-8 SEC) lost their latest SEC series 2-1 at South Carolina. Ole Miss is ranked No. 18 in the USA TODAY coaches poll, which is seven spots down from Ole Miss' No. 11 ranking last week.

That series loss at South Carolina came after Ole Miss' 7-3 loss against Little Rock on April 15. Coach Mike Bianco criticized his team's energy after the loss.

Ole Miss was ranked near the bottom of the SEC in preseason polls. Despite the series loss against the Gamecocks, coach Mike Bianco and the Rebels have largely exceeded expectations.
