He needs to prove he can play. Maybe teams knew something. I want to believe we got the steal of the draft, like a 5 or 10 year cb. They don't grow on trees. We'll need to pay him. This could propel the Cards to a SB. It's tough to find those. The problem is what if he's damaged goods. I say take that chance. I want a dog pound here. Not Hanford Dixon and Frank Minnifield, but the Cards own version.

Did you calculate or just guess? Impressive guess if just guessing.

Did the calculation based on signed contracts this year and Nubin’s from last year.

I get 9.419M total deal with 7.346M garanteed.

Ezeiruaku got 80.9% garanteed. That will most likely be the ceiling for Johnson meaning 7.556M garanteed.
A little of both! I feel we should be in the ballpark based on the signings before and after.

Uh, the famous Cleveland Browns Dawg Pound refers to a section in their stadium not the players.

I don’t understand how the signing of a second round draft pick relates to having a Dawg Pound.
It started with Minnifield and Dixon. They started barking one day in practice and formed the dog defense. The Dawg pound you speak of is commercial stuff. I used to watch the Browns in the 80s.

More 2nd round players are now signing some are getting the 100% guarantee. Wonder what our owner Bidwill will do???

Nothing.

Just follow the contracts of the other players’ contract. Lowest drafted player to get fully garanteed money is Burton at #39. The five players drafted ahead of Johnson did not receive fully garanteed money, so neither will Johnson.

The Saints and Bills decide at which draft pick the fully guaranteed money stops

They all received guarantees, just not fully guaranteed contracts.
Correct.

Just missed to put in the fully in one of the three places where I mentioned it.

Corrected now. Put it in OP so now all 3 mentions of garanteed money have fully in front and not just the 2 of 3

Both #46 and #48 signed.

Only 7 2nd rounders remain unsigned including Johnson.

Saints gave Tyler Shough a fully garanteed deal at #40.

Get it done MO

No excuses now
I have ZERO doubt that MO will get it done. 5 (including Johnson) of the 7 unsigned players should be completely straight forward now.

The two with potential conflict are:
- #41 TJ Sanders because he’s the pivot point. So will he be the lowest drafted player with a fully garanteed contract or the highest drafted player without?
#36 Quinshon Judkins facing legal issues while being in the range of players getting fully garanteed contracts.

Tough spot, if they guarantee this year it will set a precedent. Since their renegotiating the players’ contract time to lock in round 2 salaries with partial guarantees.

Michael Bidwill is the decision maker for sure. Hope this is not a problem. Should be done today (Monday).
I think if the contract doesn't get done, it is because Will and his agent are trying to play the "he should have been a 1st rounder" card. Or, he should have went higher so the Cardinals should fully guarantee his deal like higher picks.

agree. he needs to understand that at this point his best option is to get on the field...prove he should have been a first rounder...then ink that 100mil contract in three years.
Thats his path to the big money.

This is fan talk. Players and their agents don't do this stuff.

some years back...admittable a decade or so...an NFL agent came right out in public and stated his guy should have been a first rounder and deserves to be compensated as such.
The egos cannot be under estimated.aspecially when the agent only gets paid on guarantees.

however, I do not anticipate that being an issue with this guy. I think he gets signed today.

That's a public statement, not what's actually said in negotiations, either.
