Whatever happened to this? Stadium was still UofP yesterday.

Not that it matters, just felt like being distracted by something totally meaningless because all the news today is horrible.

UOP still has the naming rights for now, they just are just trying to cut the arrangement short. From the original article: "The University of Phoenix will keep its name on the stadium until a new sponsor is found, a team executive said."

The best name of all time IMHO was back when the Lakers sold the naming rights to The Forum to Great Western Savings & Loan. I think it might have even been the very first naming rights sale. The Forum became the "Great Western Forum". Doesn't sound silly, almost doesn't even sound like a sponsor name.

I still think Waste did that primarily to stick it to Republic Services (based in Scottsdale)
