The NFL combine is in just a couple of weeks, and nine ClemsonTigers are looking to increase their draft stock. In this series, we're going to dive into each player and break down exactly what they'll need to do in Indy to separate themselves and solidify their draft value.

Peter Woods is a prototypical size, 20-year-old prospect projected to be selected in the top 20 of the NFL draft. With rare physical tools and slightly underwhelming on-field performance, likely, his best years of football are still ahead of him.

Why He Could Rise

By being an RAS alien. Woods is listed at 6'3, 315 lbs, and is projected to run a 4.75 forty-yard dash. If this is confirmed at the combine, Woods will sit around the eighty-eight percentile in weight and the eighty-four percentile in height. There are currently fewer than a dozen defensive tackles with that blend of size and speed at the NFL level, and to be able to get one on a rookie deal is more than valuable. If Woods does what's expected of him, he could project in the top half of the first round. If he exceeds expectations, Woods could rise as far as the top five in this year's draft.

Why He Could Fall

The interviews with coaches. These meetings are famously harsh, with many members of NFL personnel aiming to see how players handle bold criticism. Woods will have coaches ask him why his play regressed this past season. They will ask him why Clemson's defense was so poor relative to expectations. They will point to snaps where Woods seems to take a play off, and ask him if he'd given up on the season. He needs to provide answers that satisfy these NFL teams to be trusted with their first selection in this year's draft.
