The North Carolina Tar Heels picked up a commitment for the 2027 class just a few days ago and now they could be adding another one soon.
With summer approaching, the heat won't be the only thing warming up. Several recruitments should pick up, including a few North Carolina targets. One of those targets is Joshua Vilmael, a defensive back out of Texas who is becoming a priority for North Carolina.
Reports state that Vilmael is closing in on his decision and right now, North Carolina is the team to beat. The Tar Heels received a prediction for the talented defensive back on Rivals. UNC's probability is at 90 percent right now in terms of landing him.
On Rivals, Vilmael is ranked as a four-star recruit with a score of 91 overall. He's ranked No. 183 nationally, No. 23 defensive back, and No. 24 player in the state of Texas.
As of now, UNC's 2027 recruiting class has six total commitments. There are a lot of other targets left on UNC's board and June will be a big month in terms of visits and getting players on campus.
