Florida State men’s basketball picked up a second transfer portal commitment on Wednesday as UNC Asheville transfer Kameron Taylor announced his intentions to play his junior season in Tallahassee.

Taylor averaged a team-leading 18.9 points this season to earn first-team Big South All-Conference honors, shooting 45.3% from the field and 28.1% from beyond the arc. His freshman season saw him named to the Big South All-Freshman team.

The 6-foot-7 wing was being courted by programs like Michigan, Indiana, Texas A&M and Kansas.

2024-25 Season (Freshman) – Kameron Taylor served as a consistent sixth man for the Bulldogs in his collegiate debut season…The freshman from Charlotte, N.C., was Asheville’s fifth-leading scorer at 8.9 points per game and averaged 4.2 rebounds…Taylor served as Asheville’s leading scorer and rebounder in two games for each category and reached double-figure scoring 15 times…Taylor scored a season-high 21 points against VU Lynchburg on Dec. 19 and grabbed a season-high eight rebounds against Radford on Jan 29…For his efforts during the season, Taylor was named to the Big South All-Freshman Team.

Prior to UNC Asheville – Taylor joins Asheville from Charlotte, N.C., and is a 6-7 guard/forward from Carmel Christian. In 2023-24, Taylor averaged 24.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game.

Taylor was named MVP of the North Carolina Private School All-Star game, is a 4A All-State Selection, and was named to the All-Observer First Team. Taylor transferred to Carmel Christian after two years at Olympic High School.
