At 7:51 p.m., the Louisiana baseball game versus Georgia Southern has been delayed after six full innings of play.

A lightning delay was issued after the final out at the bottom of the sixth inning, where the Ragin' Cajuns (20-23, 10-8 SBC) were up 2-0 against Georgia Southern. Officials and Louisiana Athletics members are unsure of when the game will re-start, saying they are monitoring the weather situation.

It is projected that in 30 minutes, the game will be back on, depending on if lightning strikes anywhere near M.L. Tigue Moore Field. At the pause of this game, the Cajuns starting pitcher, sophomore Chase Morgan, was up to five strikeouts and had held the Eagles scoreless so far.

This is game one of three of a Sun Belt Conference series between the Cajuns and Eagles, who are close in the SBC standings currently. The Eagles (23-18, 9-9) are just a game behind the Cajuns right now, making this an important series late in the 2025 college baseball season.

This story will be updated as the weather delay progresses and the game is set to resume.
