Hawaii colleges placed 15 players on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Softball Team, released Thursday.
Hawaii’s Milan Ah Yat, Taryn Irimata, Jamie McGaughey, Carys Murakami and Hannah Pitts made the NCAA Division I team.
Chaminade’s Bailey Benson, Miranda Diaz, Mikala Jacobsen, Kamryn Lopez and Isabel Rodriguez, and Hawaii Hilo’s Mariah Antoque, Madi Lee, Kealohi Markham, Janessa Santos and Lexie Tilton made it at the D-II level.
To qualify, student-athletes must be a sophomore academically and athletically, have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 and have played in either 90 percent or have started in 66 percent of their teams’ contests. Pitchers need to have at least 17 appearances or pitched 35 innings.
