Miles Johns scored his first win since 2022 earlier tonight (Sat., Aug. 8, 2026) at UFC Vegas 120 LIVE on Paramount+ from inside the revamped Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, as the veteran bantamweight moved up to 145 pounds and ended Gianni Vazquez with a first-round TKO (punches).
Johns was originally expected to fight Raul Rosas Jr.’s brother, Jessie Rosas, but he wasn’t cleared to compete due to a wound on his forehead. In stepped Vazquez on super short notice. The 32-year-old fought for the promotion back in February and ended up losing a decision to Javid Basharat. Saturday was a chance for both Johns and Vazquez to step up and deliver a showcase performance.
Luckily for fight fans, both fighters turned in a memorable performance. After a few minutes of back-and-forth action on the feet, Vazquez clipped Johns during an exchange inside and scored a quick knockdown. Johns was clearly hurt as Vazquez chased him around the cage trying to get the finish. That’s when Johns countered with a step-in left hook, which connected and instantly sent Vazquez to the canvas. Johns followed up with heavy ground-and-pound before the referee peeled him off.
It was an incredible first round melee and one of the best outings of Johns’ UFC career. Check out the video highlights below:
