Alberto Montes made good on his Octagon debut earlier tonight (Sat., March 7, 2026) at UFC 326 LIVE on Paramount+ from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev., as the former Contender Series winner laid waste to veteran Ricky Turcios with a second-round submission (anaconda choke).

Turcios was a betting underdog for this “Prelims” clash, but looked to be in control in the early going. It wasn’t pretty, but Turcios’ grappling and clinch game seemed to give Montes some issues. That was until Montes locked up a tight anaconda choke early in the second round and had Turcios in immediate trouble. Turcios fought for a few moments before going limp and forcing the referee’s hand.

Check out the final moments below:

Montes, 31, came into his UFC debut with a 12-1 pro record and seven submission finishes to his name. Turcios’ strong suit is his grappling and pressure, but it wasn’t enough. Montes ultimately looked as good as advertised and should be a nice addition to the 145-pound division heading into the second half of 2026.
